Radiant

Back again with a another new pattern, I know the blog has been busy this week let's just say that all that time without posting a few months ago? well I was knitting... now may I present... da da da daaaaaa Radiant! A lovely sweater worked up for Petite Purls, which is a fabulous free pattern site with designs specifically for Children. I loved working on this sweater which is a bit of an engineering feat as it is knit sideways with short rows to shaped the yoke and the sleeves are attached with a provisional cast-on and then grafted together at the end for a seamlesss join.

Don't be intimated by the construction as there are only a few repeats to work before the sweater practically knits itself. I think that my favorite part of this sweater is that the sideways yoke shaping makes an incredibly comfortablt sweater with no seams around the neck. Abby is ecstatic for this design and I have mader her two sweaters already which are the only two she really loves and wears all the time.
It also helps that this design is worked up with Mochi Plus a beautiful self-striping yarn that has an amazing array of colours. I think that I am simply in love with self striping yarn and this one is extra great because it is machine washable and uber soft. The sweater for Petite Purls is worked in Tropical Ginger and an earlier version of the sweater pictured below is worked in Bossa Nova.

So check out this pattern today for a lovely holiday gift that works up quickly on 5.5mm needles :) Happy Holidays!
