Aloe Cardigan

  • Sale

What starts out as a triangular shawl shape becomes a pretty lace cardigan worked in super soft Valley Yarns Westhampton. Geometric lace set against a purl stitch background and twisted vertical knit stitches emphasize the unusual shaping of this fashion forward garment. The lower back is worked in a garter rib to compliment the texture in the lace pattern and provide an area of visual contrast.

Notes: Cardigan is started from the center mid back with increase shaping similar to a top down triangular shawl. After the upper back is completed, the piece is divided and the upper left and right are worked separately over the shoulders and down to the armholes. Stitches for the lower back are picked up along the edge of the upper back, then the lower body is worked down to the hem. The lace pattern is continued down the fronts, while the back stitches are worked in a garter rib.
