Worked from the bottom up in the round the Genesee Mountain Poncho is reminiscent of a wooded mountainside with a striking combination of thicker cable trunks and reaching cable branches.
SIZE
45 (65)” circumference at lower edge, 16¼ (18¼)” circumference at neck, and 18½ (18¾)” long. Poncho shown measures 45” on a model with a 34” bust.
MATERIALS
Sugar Bush Yarns Bold (100% extra fine superwash merino; 190 yd [174 m]/3½ oz [100 g]): #3028 fir, 4 (6) balls.
Needles Size 8 (5 mm): 16” and 32” circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Marker (m); cable needle (cn); tapestry needle.
Gauge 20 sts and 26 rnds = 4” in Cable patt.
PATTERN NOTES
This poncho is worked in the round from the bottom up. Additional stitch repeats of 25 sts may be added to increase overall circumference, please note that this will affect yardage amounts.
