Windsurfer

  • Sale

A top down shawl worked with panels of geometric lace and garter stitch that emulate the sails on a windsurfing board. The 100% rayon from bamboo is sleek and shiny, it dances in the wind coming off the water like a sail rippling in the breeze.

Kristin Omdahl Yarns, Be So Fine [100% rayon from bamboo; 3.99oz/113g; 650yd/594m balls]; color: Jamaica Bay, 1 skein.

1 set US #5/3.75mm 32 inch circular needle
Tapestry needle, 6 stitch markers. Shawl is worked flat, circular needle is needed to accomodate the large number of stitches.

GAUGE
15 sts/27 rows = 4” in garter stitch after blocking, gauge is not crucial but may affect yardage.

PATTERN NOTES
This is a top down shawl that is started with a garter stitch tab. The yarn used for the sample is very slippery and using a bamboo or wood needle can help keep the stitches from slipping off.

Pattern has both charts and written pattern for all lace stitches.
