Like antiquated ruins in a forested glen, Abbey Glade has architectural pillars interspersed with leaves and vines in its gently curving center section. The scalloped border has individual leaves framed with columns like stained glass windows overrun with foliage and a bit of sparkle for the remnants of glass.

58” across top, 16” at tallest point, size is adjustable.

MATERIALS
Bijou Basin Ranch, Tibetan Dream Sock Yarn [85% Tibetan Yak, 15% nylon; 440yds/113g]; Natural Brown, 1 skein.

1 set US #5/3.75mm straight needles OR 1 24 -32” circular needle.

Tapestry needle, 72 Size 6 Toho beads color #996, cable needle, stitch markers, Size 10 (US size 14) 0.75mm crochet hook.

GAUGE
19 sts/30 rows = 4” over charted pattern after blocking.

PATTERN NOTES
This shawl is begun with an i-cord which is worked for 30 rows, stitches are picked up along this i-cord for the main body of the shawl. The shawl is worked flat from side to side with charted increases within the main body pattern. The border pattern is worked at the same time as main body and contains 8 beads per repeat worked over 4 separate rows.

When placing a bead for this shawl, you will be working the stitch as charted first. Place a bead onto the crochet hook, slip the just worked stitch off the needles with the crochet hook, with tension on the hook slip the bead off the hook and onto the stitch. Replace the stitch onto the right needle tip. Place bead spots are indicated in red on the chart to aid visibility.
