This colorful cardigan has a wide swath of cabled mosaic stitches that is worked all in one piece from the front hem, around the upper back and down again. The back is worked separately in the single main color using stockinette stitch so this cardigan requires some seaming along the side and upper back. The twisted stitch cables in the main color are worked at the same time as the crossed stitches giving this pattern a Be Brave Level.

For this cardigan I really wanted to have the pattern band run up the front of each side and around the back without a seam at the back neck. The cabled mosaic patterning was so beautiful and reminiscent of waves that I just couldn’t bear to work it in two pieces with a seam at the back neck. So this cardigan does have some seaming on the sides and upper back that connect the stockinette back to the fronts. The stitch pattern and colors are inspired by sunset on a beautiful lake, listening to the waves lap at the pier as the light seeps away from the world for the day.
